[ui]currently selected unit/city - highlight in the bar on the left

like the topic says.

scroll if needed.

I got empire on large map - 30 or so cities. there is no way other then hovering and double clicking to find out what city I am browsing now.

I do it very often - looking for things that build in 2 turns to rush them.

This definitely deserves support. Plus a small indicator on unit groups when they have movement points left.

on the unit moves left - there is - note they are surrounded by green shade when they have move left, adn blacken out after movement.

there is no info on how much move they do have left, but that's not really needed I think

This is a great request... I know because I've requested it so many times.  Unfortunately, we won't see it.  Stardock won't do it.  They hired a writer.  Great!  They hired a game designer.  Great!  Unfortunately, they did not hire a UI person.  Apparently, they think their own UI skills are good enough.  They're not.  I wish they would hire a UI person.  I bet Jon Shafer knows some UI people at Firaxis that Brad could steal/borrow/hire.

I would be very surprised if a company like Stardock didn't already have at least one UI designer among their employees.

End of Sentinemodo's quote

I did not notice that although I was looking for exactly such an indicator... (Usually a frame is used for highlighting.)

The following is slightly off topic although it fits more or less under the same heading.

Highlighting would also be very useful on the tactical map! The reverse should also be possible, i.e. click on an icon in the bar to select the corresponding unit on the battlefield.

This helps to answer the question: Which unit(s) should I try to kill first? The AI "knows" this but for us humans it is almost impossible to tell those units (of the same type) apart. Units of the same type are not equal, by the way. One of them was hastened, another slowed down, one is wounded, ...
