I have a character who has dies a lot in combat and has a lot of minus eg cracked skull , gangrene hand ....and more Is there anyway to get rid of these after combat penalties ?

There used to be a quest that would give you a chance to choose a potion that heals all wounds. I have not seen it in a while.
There used to be a potion that became available, in the shop, when a conclave got a particular improvement. This must have gotten changed in 1.02, because I have not seen it recently, either. It may just have been pushed later in the herbalist line.

Aha! From the 1.02 changelog: "Alchemy Labs sell Iru Elixirs, but they cost more"
So you need to build an alchemy lab in a conclave.
Ran into it recently, so it's still in 1.02. But now that Iru Elixirs are around and Butchermen can multiply themselves, I actually chose to recruit the Butcherman instead. It paid off, the creepy bugger practically won the game for me, but that was rushing my enemies on a tiny map. In a larger, longer game the potion is probably the better investment - especially for the character you describe @martyran01, with so many injuries.
I believe iru elixirs can now be bought in cities(conclave with alchemist i think, or whatever the highest-level potion-selling building is)
Yeah, although I'm a little confused about how that works. Is it only the case that they can be bought in the ZOC of the city with the alchemist, and not throughout the empire? That seemed to be the case in my game but am not entirely sure.
Yes, all such items that become unlocked from an improvement only exist in the city with the improvement.
