Anti-aliasing causes blank white screen

When I installed the game today (1.02) I found I got a blank white screen for the close up view and an obviously incorrect black background for the zoom out (cloth?) view. The game had set anti-aliasing at x2 by default.

After checking a few posts I turned off the anti-aliasing on the options screen. This appears to fix the problem. Turning it back on to any value reinstates the problem.

I have a Radion HD 7800 series 2GB card and i think it's set to "let application decide" on anti-aliasing - it's new and I haven't messed with it yet.

Can someone shed light on what the problem is here and what I should do about it?

The usual drill? Update drivers, DirectX? Check Event Log for application log errors? Did you do it?

well dxdiag shows I'm running directX 11 and there are no problems reported on display, sound or input tabs. All other games programs work fine. debug.err is a long file and I wouldn't know what to look for unless it leaped out at me with something like "ERROR" ...." which is doesn't. There are a number of "file not found" type warnings, that's all. My card driver is not the latest version, which is 12.10 and has just been released, because it causes display flickering in Skyrim and I'll wait for a fix. I reverted back to 12.8.

All other programs seem to work fine. If someone could tell me what to look for in debug.err I'll turn on anti-aliasing again and check, but this looks on the face of it like a FE specific issue which should be known.
