Bug 1.02 Unable to disable autosave on campaign or random maps

As the title says i am unable to disable the auto save within the game while on the campaign or randomly generated maps. The options are there where they should be, and i can change the slider uncheck the auto save box.. but it saves regardless. Is there some file outside of the game where settings are stored i can try editing? This auto save every turn creates huge delays after each turn (between 5 and 30 minutes which was where i just quit) and makes this game really undesirable to play.

I've finally been able to play a bit using a custom faction on the default maps or random generated ones with auto save turned off however auto save still creates a save if i try to use the default factions or campaigns though. I'd really like to be able to experience the story within the campaign, which is the main reason i bought the game to begin with.
