1.02 My kingdoms for a white horse

My first game with 1.02, it took me a while to find horses. While exploring, I gatherd the money to buy one for the sov, and after the research, what was my surprise that the shop only had a white warhorse, with +40 wigh capacity. And higer price, the vendor took me 200 g.

When I found horses, in the unit design only could see the same white horse.So I  though it might be a bug or something, and started another game to be sure. But deleted old saves...

The vendor sold me only a white one. The horses I found later, they were brown/black. The shop never more white horses. Later, I found a hero in a white horse too (Flunny or something like that).

Is the white horse a new resource, or what?

Were you playing the race that has the warhorse as their special tech. (I think that Mancers only have access to this war-horse), everyone else gets the brown and black horses.

White horses!!?!? That would be a sweet find.

Maybe it wasn't a horse.....maybe it was a Unicorn disguised as a horse. XD

Yup its the legacy of serrane that grants you the white war horse. They really should put that in the tool-tip for it

Yeah I think I was playing with them.

And the hero I saw, should be too. I recruited only to steal the horse ;)

Actually, I got these as Magmar. Not complaining. I could only give my units the regular horses and a handful of my heroes, but the rest of my heroes where able to purchase the war horses (so I bought 4 with one hero and gave them to those heroes who couldn't get them). If this is part of something from the patch (bug or not) Im happy with it. Maybe next update we will have lizard and spider mounts for sale? =)

You can buy these horses from a Mancer race, just like you can buy altarian leather from altar.

There has been a way for heroes of any nation to get white horses (warhorse) since at least .952

1) Find a wild horse tile.

2) Research mounted warfare.

3) Build a stable, then a ranch on the wild horse tile.

4) Snake a city to the tile, and include it within the city wall.

5) Have a hero shop within the zone of control of the city that engulfed the ranch.

If you want your trained unit to have the warhorses, you will have to play the Kingdom of Capitar, or make a race with the "Legacy of Cerane" trait.

I have to try that of engulfing a ranch with a city. It would be nice that sneaking a wargs ranch, gave War Wargs in the city's shop

In my current game, I have one city where I can buy warhorses (White horses).  I think it's got a ranch within the city wall like Tuidjy describes.

You can't train units with Warhorses if you only have them via an encompassed Stable.  But you can still buy them for heroes.
