Units attached to buyable champs are dying... normal or bug?

Whenever I buy a champ with, etc. Drake unit with it (in army), that Drake dies whenever I buy the champ... Am I missing something in wiki, or is this really a bug?

It's intended, you don't get the champs army.  Would be cool if you did and certainly needed as the high level champs are way too god damn expensive.

i think you should get them :( i don't want them to die

The bodyguard units are there to prevent the high level champs from getting killed before it's possible to recruit them.

I think you should get them ... OR high lvl champs to be half cost.

One or the other (preferably the former ^_^)

The army is there as more of a protective force from the opposite side killing them easily before you can recruit them.

That doesn't make any sense as far as the price goes.

In my current playthrough there are two level 7 heroes I can recruit. One is in an army with 2 mirror elementals (pretty weak units) and cost  almost 500 gildars to recruit.

The other one comes with a very powerful lvl 4 Slag (the slag is a lot more powerful than the lvl 7 heroes it is with) and I need almost 1700 gildars to recruit that champion.

If I don't get the Slag why would I pay 1.7K ?

Is the first lvl 7 hero the same race as you? Does the second one belong to a race that is at war with you?

Race seems to play a big role when it comes to champ prices.

I didn't know race played a role in their price...

I noticed it through observation.

If it's the hero I'm thinking of, he comes with a summon slag skill that you can use in combat. That's why he's so expensive.

Both Champions are from different race, not the same as my sovereign but gumbostu is right, the expensive one does have Summon Slag as an ability so that's pretty buff :)
