Can I add a 4th unit?

I have cooperation, but can't figure out how to add a 4th

I just got "Cooperation" which unlocked "Group - 4 troops", but I still have lots of 3 troop "parties" running around.  I thought I'd be able to take these groups to town and add a 4th, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.  Is it possible?  It seems a shame if I have to make all new troops instead of rearranging my current ones.

It is not possible without modding.

Oh well, I was afraid of that.  Thanks for the reply.

I usually try to get Coop as soon as I viably can.  Before then I build troops, yes, but more of the throwaway variety.  Once I get coop I then start to incorporate more crystal accessories and weapons.

Good idea.  I'm still in the middle of my first game, and I didn't plan ahead.  I'll be doing that in the future though.

Yeah sadly a lot of the older troops have to get disbanded or get guard duty because against tougher opponents they just don't have the attack power to make a dent.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  Sometimes I get a bit of a scare when enemy units pop out of the FoW, then I see that they're going to attack a city with old, veteran units and I'm like, yeah good luck, have fun trying to take that city.

the inability to upgrade old troops is annoying in many ways. especially when it comes to accessories. weapons an armour can be upgraded, but only to a computer-determined "best". we should have the ability to upgrade a unit into any arbitrary new unit, paying gold appropriate for the equipment changes. Just like in galciv II. i don't see any purpose to not having that feature in (i have a vague feeling they use the same engine)

Well I'm not sure the soldiers on the ground would agree with arbitrary upgrades, 'specially if that new unit type is the other gender.  They might desert and run for the hills.

I use my older troops as cannon fodder. I just send them after monster after monster until they die. I get some gildar in the process.

I think we should have the opportunity to increase 3-soldiers troop into 4-soldiers troop or more. Make the gildar cost higher with the troop's level, if you will, but please make this possible.

I completely agree. Mages and Archers are the only default ranged troopers, and my high level archers would be much better as a 7 stack at their level than a level 3 7 stack.
