[Balance Suggestion] Juggernauts - don't allow magical items, or make them trainable as-is (like spiders).

As suggested in the Overpowered juggernauts thread.

I'll repost my point in the other thread.  Nerfing juggernauts is a terrible idea:

-----------

No, they're awesome as is.  Yithril is one of the only factions that I care about when they're on the map.  Yithril & their Juggernauts are an example of faction differentiation done right.  You see white borders on the map and you think "Holy shit, that's a problem because they have these big insanely strong monsters that are going to kick my ass".  Juggernauts are Yithril's identity.

People care.  When people see Pariden, they don't care at all.  When they see Yithril, they take notice and, if they're smart, they start to plan accordingly.  How many other factions in the game have that effect?

I love facing AI Juggernauts!  Two of them will come in and rip a full army to shreds!

Please don't change this.

[not being facetious]

Boo!  I love being able to tweak the Jugs!  But, they are overly powerful, so I say they don't need 2 +100% to damage.  They do 300% damage, meaning that an attack of 84 with a maul, which compared to many other being in the Elemental world, makes them about the strongest thing in the game.  I think 200%, or 2x damage would be fine.

The juggernauts do add a lot to the game.  The problem is that there is no good way to deal with them without using cheese, not once the AI starts copying a good player design.

Sure there are ways of dealing with Juggernauts.  Make sure you're in a position of strength vis-a-vis Yithril.  That's the beauty of Juggernauts.  They're a bitch to fight and you have to plan for how you're going to deal with them the moment you realize Yithril is nearby.  If you could deal with them just like they were any other unit they wouldn't be special, now would they?

They make you adapt what you're doing.  That's what makes them a differentiation.

What is your way of dealing with juggernauts with 26+ initiative, 10+ armor, or about 50% dodge to ranged?  Fielded by an AI with significant difficulty level bonuses, that started far away from you and absorbed half the map.

I'm not saying there are no ways, but it's a pain, and yet another way that some new players get curb stomped without a snowball's chance in Hell.

i'm sorry, i have played enough games where ythril has 1000X the power of everybody else and dominated the game using stacks of 9 juggernauts that every chance i get i will eliminate ythril as fast as possible.

i am not exaggerating here
