Ahhh, look at that cute pink armor she has. And I notice the a lot on all sovs. They fucking love leather greaves.
Chaps are in fashion this fall!
oh the chafing...
Hey, fresh greaves are just the thing you need if you're going to fight a dragon. She'll go through all of those.
I wonder if they are not buying these greaves, but instead finding these greaves on quests or fighting monsters and not selling them.
Which ever case it is: buying the greaves or finding them as loot, they need to sell most (all). They should only keep what their heroes will use.
They have to be buying them due to some bizarre bug. If I saved every pair of leather greaves I came across in 5 games, I wouldn't have that many, and every single AI sovereign that surrenders to me has that many or more.
Those merchants are really pushing the merchandise. This AI needs to have a buyer beware told to them then that after the first pair the next pair will not be useful to you.
Maybe she's getting a discount by purchasing in bulk? ![]()
Another thing I've noticed is sovs who buy wargs/horses but don't use them. That should be a no-brainer.
It's because when they cried out 'Ride with me!' all their troops just looked at 'em blankly. 'cause they did not have any mounts to ride on. And that was embarassing. So the wargy/horsie didn't get used.
This bug seems to be fixed for the standard sovereigns. I haven't seen them doing this in 1.00. But it looks like bug still exists for custom AI sovereigns.
Its not fixed for standard sovereigns in 1.004.
And its related to reloading a game. (Savegame before demanding surrender here.)
Here we have Markinn with 11 leather greaves after he surrendered to me:

and here we have Markinn with 12 leather greaves, after reloading, pressing end turn, and then demanding surrender:

Its a really weird bug ![]()
Also, notice lord marking not equipping the leather hat, and not equipping the rusty boots. (and not picking up the swords instead of his useless hammer).

They are still getting the Strength trait twice, even on lower difficulties.
