Thanks for the game!

I have to say, I had no clue this game was even in development.  I was one of the people who bought Elemental: War of Magic a couple years ago, was disappointed by it and promptly forgot about it.  Monday morning, I got an email telling me that Stardock was unhappy with how Elemental turned out and they had created a new game trying to fill the vision of the original and I got a copy of the game free.  It was a shock to see a game company that is willing to admit the game it put forth did not meet expectations, and even more shocking to see them offer a new, better game as compensation.

So far I only have a few hours with Fallen Enchantress, so my impressions are limited, but I am loving it.  I just wanted to throw a thank you out to Stardock for acknowledging that a game didn't meet its potential, creating a new game to fulfill the original vision, and for giving something to those who bought into the original.

You got it for free?  Brad made me do things to get my copy.  Terrible things...things that make me feel dirty, no matter how much I sit in the shower scrubbing and crying...

I have yet to find that god damn pony!  I search the world for quest after quest, and haven't seen it yet!

Story is the same as the OPs here, only I haven't tried it, yet, since it's still installing.

 

Let me add one thing: This is awesome, and would happen with very few developers and publishers.

While I didn't think Elemental was that bad, yes, it finally disappointed in the long term fun. Still I had my ounces of fun with it and didn't feel like I wasted my money on it. Now having a whole new game to explore is absolutely fantastic.

And now, before I finish and start trying out this new game, let me thank you, Stardock, for one more thing:

Thank you for not forgetting a genere that is almost forgotten by most other devs - Turn based strategy games.
