so what's the difference between this and Ecomental? https://forums.elementalgame.com/433981

you could probably add in Ecology and Lush map types from that

also is this compatible with sean and heavenfall's mods? ;)

There actually isn't much of a difference now that i look at it other than ecomental being for the last beta version, we both went about the same ways to achieve the same thing.  Looking at his lush and ecology map types, i wouldn't add lush as it's pretty much the same as the default temperate map type.  I think the default map styles pretty much covers it for me.  I personally like the balanced type.

As far as compatibility it hasn't been tested with any other mod but if it doesn't modify the coremaps and terraintype xml files than it should be fine.

I would expect performance in the late game to be very slow on maps this big. Hope it's not though. How cool would it be to have all the wildlands?

so does this officially obsolete ecomental due to being for 1.00 instead of 0.99 ?

you are right some should expect possible performance issues, but the options for larger maps is there for those that want to take that risk :)

I am busy figuring out stamps but the .99 eco or this mod should work fine. And just an FYI all the problems with the maps come down to problems with the stamps, this mod or ecomental will give you bigger maps and a little better adjustment of the stamps but nothing can be fixed until we have an really good library of well designed stamps, and the problems with that now are

1) having to constantly reload the game when using cartographer to reload assets (stamps and other files when you change them outside the editor)

2) the selection wand not really working and having to click 100's times to get a stamp ready to save

3) No full understanding of the save options, nor the way splatting and brush sizing really works with terraintypes.xml and map generation. Also lack of options when saving a stamp, why can't I choose "Place on swamp" or "Place on Desert".

4) Options are all saved as a single XML element "Rules" which I haven't been able to decypher, which prevents manual editing which means you always have to go into cartographer and resave a stamp.

Anyways I am looking into some more "creative" ways to make stamps.
