Shop & Item management/UI is still a problem

One of my main problems with WoM was the interaction with the shop, sadly it is still bad in Fallen Enchantress.

I keep buying items my units cannot use; why not "red" out items they cannot use?

I can't see if the new weapon is actually better; some color indication of stats would help (sort of what Diablo III does).

I can't see if I buy something that results in my unit having to remove something; having item fitting slots on character would help!

Makes item management a real pain. I have to save before/after each item.

I really hope you guys can do something to fix this.

That is already the case. You can best see it in the equipment screen. Select a weapon, armor piece or accessory, and you can see a colour-coded change to your statistics. Green indicates, that the selected item is better. Red, that it is worse. While in the shop, you can only see the moves, attack, defense and HP of the selected champion, but it works the same.

No it isn't

How does seeing it in the equipment screen AFTER buying it help compare weapons in the shop BEFORE buying them?

the shop interface compares HP, Damage, Defense, and Move. The hero screen compares ALL attributes of an item. For example, you could buy an item that reduces your dodge without noticing because dodge is not a listed attribute in the shop screen.

If you select an item in the trade/shop or the equipment screen, you can clearly see, if it increases or decreases your stats, by turning the values green or red. How is this not a colour indication to see which item is better?

I never said it is perfect. Also, you can still mouse-over an item to see its stats and compare it with your own equipment.

Which part of "trading screen is a different screen from the equipment screen" do you fail to comprehend or read?

Your argument that it is displayed in the equipment screen, while PERFECTLY ACCURATE is also totally irrelevant to the TRADE SCREEN. And "explaining" it to me as I don't understand is just silly because I said it was perfectly accurate and irrelevant in my first post.

Of course it is a different screen. That was never in question. The OP was asking for a colour indication to determine which item is better. I said this already exists, using the equipment screen to showcase this, because it is more easily observed there, while mentioning that the shop does it only in a limited form.

You disagreed with my statement that a colour indication exists, but still agree, that both the shop and equipment interface do compare stats.

This confused me and I tried to clarify why you then disagreed with my statement.

Maybe my choice of words was poor and I didn't get my point across properly. If that is the case, I apologize. English is not my first language and I'm pretty bad at communicating with other people in general.

However, I believe we can all agree that the shop UI needs to be improved.

The op was clearly talking about the SHOP screen.

No I didn't. I said your statements describe the equipment screen which does not disagree with that statement of yours.

I said that the shop screen has color indication, but only for 4 out of the many more things you need. which ALSO does not disagree with that statement of yours.

If you are referring to the "no it isn't line"....

OP: Shop screen needs A, B, C.

You: This is already the case (then you clarify the equipment page has it)

Me: No it isn't. (then I clarify that the equipment page is different page then shop page)

Yes, and I was addressing this in my very first post. I only mentioned the equipment screen, because the colour indication is easy to miss in the shop. How often do I need to repeat this?

How did my statement only describe the equipment screen? If you select a weapon you can see both the attack-value and colour change. This is the case in both the equipment AND the shop screen. I also already mentioned that the shop only shows the moves, attack, defense and HP of the champion.

Reread everyone's posts and this time pay attention.

I do this before every post. May I suggest you do the same?

No, I said Shop AND Item management.

Regarding the "red/green" stats Gaunathor mentions, this only counts for the 4 general stats on my character portrait  not my overall stats. Item often have more stats than just damage.

And I am still having huge problems not knowing what item goes where on my character, only to buy something that suddenly replaces another. Fitting slots are really needed, OR when placing the cursor over an item it should highlight the piece it replaces.

And like I mentioned, items a character cannot use should be faded red.
