My computer says that Fallen Enchantress could be an attempt to fool me into dowloading something that could harm my computer. Does Fallen Enchantress really come free with War of Magic?
Yes. I have it right now. What kind of AV are you using? It could just be a bad AV. I have never seen this problem and I have downloaded several iterations of the beta and the full game.
Um AV? I assume an AV is what helps protect the computer from bad downloads.
Fallen Enchantress is free for anyone who purchased War of Magic in 2010. It's Brad's way of apologizing for WOM being a... substandard game.
AV stands for Anti-virus. It is software that you download that scans files on your computer for viruses. Are you familiar with computers?
The game is fine if you are downloading it from SD's site or Steam.
I downloaded it, it's working fine and nothing happened to my computer.
In Drockmar's defense the installer, when used on windows Vista or 7, says the publisher is unknown and unknown files can harm your computer. It may not be an AV at all. Stardock really should have caught this oversight.
Drockmar-- All I can say for certain is I ran it and can play the game. My anti-virus has not detected a problem. The warning I mention was during the install and is a generic warning by Windows.
