[1.0 BUG] Limitation on the # of units in combat caused problems

I had an enemy stack approaching one of my cities and filled it up with 8 slave militias and lastly added a light horse unit as the 9th. That enemy AI attacked the city and my light horse unit never appeared in that combat. 2 city defenders and 8 slave militias participated in the combat and won.

Afterward, my light horse unit was gone. No where to be found. The one slave militia said it was composed of 17 members, not the expected 4 members. A few other slave militias who survived the combat were also in the city.

I moved 6 of these surviving militias out of the city and they somehow duplicated. Becoming 3 groups of 6 militias.

Was this in Sandbox or the Campaign?

Its already been reported for the Campaign (any units past 8 not appearing in combat at all, and getting marked as being killed at the end of combat) and I think it was mentioned it has been fixed on an internal build.  I didn't think it was also in Sandbox ... in which case its even worse!

Is this a tatical map bug, where there are not enough positions for the number of units involved with the combat. There were increases to the number of defending units just recently. I would say that for tatical city battles there needs to be at least 15 slots available... 9 for a full city and 2 for being a city and I think you can get 3 or 4 more units from fort upgrades.

This may be the problem that we are seeing here.

You can get unlimited numbers of units in a city if you have scoured the lands and defeated champions until they are all in one city.

You could make it so if there are too many units in a city, any remaining defenders have to be defeated by attacking the city a second time.  So if you win the first battle, any units defeated (including city militia) would not appear in the second battle.  If you lose the first battle, or don't attack the city a second time after the first, the militia would be back.

Or simply make a huge city map with 30 positions on it, that should be enough. ;-) =)
