[1.0] [Campaign] [BUG] Unable to remove a champion from Sovereign's stack and Sovereign no longer appearing in battles

When champions or other units join you in the campaign, there doesn't seem to be any restriction on party size, which is good given there doesn't seem to be any research for increasing party size, but I also do not seem to be able to remove someone like Gnarri whom seems to block several champions I've encountered in previous chapters from joining the party.  I have him selected here, I try right clicking in the grey-highlighted square above to get him to leave the party, but it doesn't work.

Also, my Sovereign for some reason is not appearing in tactical battles now. :/

At the beginning of the Campaign you get a popup message that unlike a normal game Champions cannot move from the Stack.

I suspect the Sovereign is missing due to a bug that kills off random units (usually Relias) when the stack is over Nine units

I believe this is by design, one of the very first scenario scroll popups you see mentions it (although it is easy to miss, so perhaps there should be an explanatory error message each time you actually try to do it?)

The text of that popup says that you will not be able to remove or disband champions, so to be careful who you hire. However, most people who join your party don't give you a choice, so it ends up being an exercise in frustration. I didn't ask for Janusk, ok; I'd rather keep some of my leather-clad spearmen with fury and bloodthirst. Also, I have way too many water mages. Gnarri is the only one that is a real choice, and even there, you don't realise that you are making a permanent choice just by approaching him a second time - it would be nice to have a final confirmation to allow him to join your party. With others, it is not at all clear from initial dialog whether they will give you a reward item or their own servitude, so you do their side quest anyway and sometimes end up with people you didn't really want. And you can't even sacrifice them in combat :(

Regarding Relias' cowardly behaviour, that happens when you have nine units in your stack. The game kills units at the start of combat to limit it to nine per side, but I think there is an additional off-by-one calculation errors that does it even when you have exactly nine. I literally had to sacrifice the two disciples that you get given just so that I could have Relias stick around in battle. See also: https://forums.elementalgame.com/434745

We're looking into all of the stack limit issues. Thanks guys.

Awesome, that's great to hear.

Do you have any plans to tweak the dialog to make mutually exclusive companions easier to manage? (At least, allow them to be replaced, per my earlier suggestion, or something else along those lines). I am tempted to do another run through the scenario with different paths and companions, but I didn't take notes the first time around and I don't feel like guessing at every side quest.

Would be great if you at least had to right click on a champion to talk to them, instead of them auto-joining you merely because you end your turn with your Sov stack on an adjacent tile -- especially when it has consequences of subsequent champions refusing to join you.

The system for the mutually-exclusive champions is pretty fragile, so we definitely won't be messing with them for the first couple patches. After that, we may find time to look into things. :) Thanks for the suggestions!

Cool, thanks for considering. I guess I'll keep to the sandbox after the first patch is out, and maybe come back for another campaign run later if I am in a story mood :)
