[1.0] Horrible fonts on XP, at least in the campaign

I've finished the campaign on my Windows 7 PC and the fonts were great.

But on my wife's XP laptop, the fonts are so bad that the game is practically unplayable.  Everything is tiny, thin and pixelated.

Any suggestions as to where to start looking?  It looks like a problem with Anti-Aliasing/Clear fonts, but FE seems to be overriding the Windows settings.

Are you able to post a screenshot of what you are seeing?

If you could post a screenshot I'd love to check it out.  I just jumped into the QA lab and it looked good there on XP, but something must be going on.

edit: Neil, you are to fast. :)

reminds me of the issue I had with WOM when i installed a particular set of ATI drivers and the /3GB switch. For whatever reason the ATI drivers + the 3GB switch caused havoc on the fonts....

My only solution was to turn off the 3GB switch. (or use really old drivers...)

I fixed it by fiddling with the Windows settings, and I'm not man enough to break it for her again.  If it happens again, I will post a screenshot.

But basically, it was using basic Windows fonts without anti-aliasing, and it looked terrible.

I really felt that the font in the Campaign 'books' was too thin and difficult to read. Didn't look italicized but just was hard to read.

ps. No scrolling pen sfx ??
