Campaign frustrations.

Maybe this belongs in the support section, I'm not sure, it's a bit of a mixed bag. Anyway.

#1 The Key of Allard. I've found and killed the two demons but they were both in the same army group. So now I only have one half of the key (presumably, nothing shows in my heroes' inventory) and there are no other demons on the map (that I can find). So is the quest broken now or am I missing something?

#2 Ku'o Sian. Ok, I hate this so much. He won't join you if you have Gnarri in your group, otherwise he gives you the quest to search for the golem pieces before he joins. This one thing turned the whole campaign from fun to horrible frustration as I ended up searching the entire map avoiding (unnecessary) fights and not doing quests as I didn't want Ku'o Sian to miss out on exp. I wanted to do his quest before I move on to anything else.

The only piece I've found on the entire map (the part of it that is accessible) is the one in the darkling village. I hate how terribly vague this quest is. Do the other pieces appear in much later stages of the campaign? Am I just wasting my time? Is it safe to hire Gnarri after Ku'o Sian gives you his quest, would he still join once it's complete despite Gnarri being in the group? It's so annoying having to avoid the part of the road where Gnarri is standing for fear of his joining being triggered.

Any light shed on these things would be appreciated.

1. There are two groups of Lurks. Each has one part of the key. If you killed both groups and only got one piece, then it is a bug.

2. You can't have both Gnarri and Ku'o Sian on the party. You need to choose between them. The search for the pieces is part the main quest.

Ok, I'll try looking around some more. I was worried that random-ish indie monster behaviour joined them all into the same group.

It helps to know that actually, I hate wondering blindly. Does it take long to complete? I prefer K'uo Sian for RP purposes but I have a feeling that by the time his quest is complete Gnarri would've surpassed him in XP by a large amount.

Gnarri seems to block a lot of champions from joining you.  I'm on the verge of nixing him, but I have him levelled to a decent tank ...

It doesn't take long. Just make sure, that you have at least 15 Iron.

Thanks again. And the other group of Lurks is right where they were supposed to be, I was just being an idiot.

It's not just Gnarri.  The lady mage that joins also blocks another choice (the guy in question doesn't like the Dark Skinned one so I assume it's in reference to her).  I'd guess Stardock has a bunch of pairings where you get one or the other, but not multiple declines or the Hero stack would go above nine and bug out (different thread)

Indeed. However, considering that a lot of the side quests are non-linear, it is often frustrating because you don't realise that the mage you just met will prevent someone else from joining.

I will allow myself to suggest a more fun dialog system.

Premise: A and B are mutually exclusive. You pick up A first, then stumble into B at a later time.

B: "Arrgh, I see you are travelling with A, I don't associate with those unwholesome types. It is me or him."

You: "Yeah, I never liked that guy anyway. You are in!"
A: "Screw you guys, you are mean!" (exits left stage, with his gear in tow; some may chose to fight you rather than leave quietly)

or

You: "A is a friend and I stick by my friends."
B: "Fine, your loss."

or

You: "You are the one that's unwholesome."
B: "Heretic! You die now!" (fight)
