Dynasties in FE

So who's gonna md Dynasties back in to the game?

It's the only feature I'm missing from WoM. I don't care if offspring are shitty, I just like to get them. They feel like "mine" more than regular champions, like the sov does.  O:)

As it stands now, subdued faction leaders have taken the position of Offspring in my games...

Go into ElementalDefs.xml and change <EnableDynasties>0</EnableDynasties> to <EnableDynasties>1</EnableDynasties>.

It's probably buggy as hell. Have fun.

There is a "Cripple" version of the  dynasti system somewhere in the files, I think a modder can help you turn them on.

Guess I'm gonna try that tonight after work, thanks!

I remember this actually worked in the beta. I believe some of the screens are missing but you can indeed get married. I can't remember if off-spring worked though and that's the big issue.

Also, I believe computer players started off married to a randomly created NPC, which was kinda unfair.

But if someone can get this working well, awesome.

I loved dynasties in WoM. Could you die of old age? I don't remember that...

I really hope the feature will be made working (even if it isn't enabled) or moddable so that modders can get it working properly... i'd love to see it in mods.

Awesome feature.

Yeah this was the only feature (other than MP which I can live without) that I was disappointed to see removed.

Nice to see that it's there in some form but I assume it's disabled because it's broken.

Would love to see this re-implemented in the expantion

Great game so far I hope it does well stardock

You know i think all it needs to work are some gui additions and, event screens.

I can probably dig up the old event screens from the first one.

Any one here good at adding gui?

Shoot me what you find.  The GUI is not difficult to mod.

Once the family cheat has been enabled, ctrl+p generates children too.  However I haven't found any references to the dynasty system other than the basic parameters in ElementalDefs yet; still reading through all the game files.

I agree with  and others in this thread.  I also miss the dynasties feature.  It was admittedly flawed but my favourite champions were my children.   I actually play a custom sov in FE that is based on one of the most powerful daughters I had in Elemental.   Not all the champs the system created were bad.   Dynasties should be brought back as part of a diplomacy expansion since the system would play a role in addig depth to the oveall diplomacy in the game.

Multiplayer and dinasties = many of us miss them

(even if most of us are silent)

Personally i dont care about multiplayer i rarelly play multiplayer games due to lack of time but dynasties is something i am gonna miss in the game. Buts its a Stardock game i am sure modders will come up with something  :dur:

If not it will come in an expansion.

Thanks, that's good to know. I really missed the whole Dynasties system from Elemental. Which is a shame as so far I'm loving FE much more. It's like the only sour note in a great performance ruining the whole somewhat. The lack of a system just stands out to someone who loved it in the first game.

I hope the content team keeps in mind the interest of Dynasties for an expansion.
