Countdown: 1 day to release

In less than 24 hours, Fallen Enchantress will be released in its 1.0 form! I'm in a bit of shock just thinking about it.  Two full years of development. It's hard to believe how fast the time has gone by.

Around 1pm EST on October 23, the game will be released.  If you order it sooner, it'll be the last Beta (0.99) and it'll upgrade to the 1.0 version.

I went around the office today to interview more people who worked on the game.  Here's their story:

oooo spooky... lols.

Looking forward for a big success with new people buying the game. I've been working on my friends to buy the game, but they really want the multiplayer for the game... That's just how it goes I guess.

Nice. Oh and the bell chimes I asked for are absolutely divine. Loved that part of the interviews. It was a little disturbing to see the similarities between this fake video of work environments and the ones Saddam used to put out.

You aren't fooling anyone Derek. Now show us the dungeon where you keep the slaves!

Thanks, Stardock, for listening to your fans, understanding their disappointment and grievances (rather than fly into a rage to squelch criticism),  and delivering in spades where you fell short on release day. Your team delivered with style, not on a sour note, and that not only makes up for the launch, but brings Stardock back on the "I can preorder titles from from this company again with confidence" list.

Great job to all those involved, look forward to seeing (and buying) the next Stardock game!!!

More interviews with Stardock staff who are members of the E:FE Development team -- Nice !   Interesting stuff, and provides some added insights ... as well as hints and tips of things to come.

I do agree very much with Brian Clair; when he makes the point that  Music, and  Sound Effects,  can make a big difference in how you perceive a game, and ultimately, how much you enjoy a game.  The results can be subtle; but the  Right Music and the Right Sound Effects  can make a huge difference in the degree of immersion that you experience playing the game.  And immersive games are the ones that people come back to ... to lose themselves in (to play) ... again and again !

Frogboy said the AI generally avoids quests on lower difficulties and when it does do a quest, it rolls combat rating against quest difficulty to determine if the AI wins or not.  Oh well, I guess the calculations used for this could use a little tweaking, but we would never have noticed this if the AI didn't win any of the big quests before Season 50.

It's not going to be fixed as near as I can tell. Maybe in the next update for AI. I believe there is a long thread for this, but it was a while ago we asked for this and no luck so far. I am currently just upping the AI Value to see if that works. I'll let you know.

Quick question: To get the full version of FE we will just log in to Stardock Central and get it from there, same way as the beta?

Also i've read somewhere on the forums that there was some talk of allowing us to use the Cd-keys that we get on Steam, so we can also get it from steam or did i mis read something? Thanks for any answers
