Still no city is idle warning? :(

So frustrating when you realize your city is asleep and you never noticed!

There's a small "ZZZZ" displayed next to the city icon on the far left of the screen but yea, it's kinda easy to miss. On the other hand, sometimes you want your city to be idle(there are specific city bonuses that only work for idle cities) and having a prominent pop-up come up every turn could become annoying.

There should be a pop-up (like with research) when a city first stops building. And there should also be an option in the build queue for 'merchanise' or some such place-holder that allows you to produce a little gold each turn.

Yes just a pop up when it first stops building. I always miss the little zzz way over in the corner!

The game also stops autoturn sometimes (it doesn't if you've got an idle bonus) if you have a city not building.

I really can't stand "while idle" improvements, I never build them- if I ever do a mod, it's one of the first things I'd get rid of.

I think that iddle cities with the "Zzzz" should appear on top of the city list at left screen, so you can realize of them, instead of having to scroll up and down each turn, once you have a lot of cities.

And that of iddle cities that make research is annyoying. Maybe there should be a mode that put a city into

 - Research. Focus the production to research. (This is like the current iddle ones.)

 - Bussiness. Focus the production to make Gildar

This way, the iddle cities are really iddle, and the cities that have nothing to build (or you prefer them to do), will have something productive to do.

I like the notice when city is idle idea, and then you can reference the sleeping city indicator.  I like the sleeping city indicator. It is intuitive and pretty obvious and visible.

On a similar reasoning, I would like better notification of improvements that need updating, especially on shards.  Clicking on each resource to see if it needs upgrading, or looking for that air shard hidden in the corner of empire does not add to game enjoyment for me.  I would like notices similar to those given when the resources are first available.

I wholeheartedly agree with this thread, the game REALLY needs this. also what SOLOSOL said about being able to convert hammers into beakers or gold.

Frogboy wants to exercise your attention to detail, a skill missing from the youth of today.

:D  I just watch for the sleeping cities icon, but I can understand the objections from others.  Would be nice if a future version of the game after release adds a checkbox that pops up a message whenever you have a sleeping city.

Mind, I think anybody who used this would quickly realize how cumbersome it is, but maybe that's just me.

This is one the first things I noticed back in the earliest War of Magic beta builds.  Would really like to have the option to be reminded that I have idle cities if I hit the turn button.

Could make a toggle "No more idle notifications from this city" on the notification if the player is intentionally keeping the city idle.
