[.992][supposedly not a BUG] Guillotine Axe weighs 80!! OMG

I'm thinking it is a typo, because a banishing mace is the same base damage and only weighs 15..... :O

80 is more than the armour I was wearing is.... :P

Or you could bump its attack stat to something silly :D  impossible to wear armour and weild that thing at the same time! :D  My axe is much bigger than yours!!! :P

edit: changed the title to be "supposedly not a bug", I still think it's wrong based on dmg:weight ratio.

That axe is for Juggernauts only. The weight is fine for them.

but what about the Golumn sheild, it weighs 45 = as much as an entire suite of armour

And it is for Iron Golems only.

Maybe it needs a quote on it along the lines of 'Too heavy to wield for any but the mighty Juggernauts'. At the moment it is a little confusing if one does not realize.

Just look at where it says "Weight: 80" on the item.  I always check weight before placing something with one of my champions, since encumbrance is a big factor in initiative.  You should consider checking that out all the time, too.

Regular units can use it, but they have to be Urxen, take both strength traits, and be riding horses. Just before upgrading to 992 I was playing a Verga game where I designed such a unit and gave them leather armour (so they were heavily encumbered). However I then upgraded to 992 before finishing that game, so I haven't actually managed to put the unit to use. I think it would have been worth the initiative hit because they would have had 90 attack.

90 attack?? :O  this axe only has 19!!

The axe was a loot item, I figured I'd just switch between it and the banishing mace (which has the same base damage but different buffs) depending on whether I'm fighting elementals or not.

Jugganaught only axe hey..... I understand the golem shield (it rocks), but an axe that is no more powerful than anything else.....  80!!  80 I say!

It's all good.  Thanks all for the heads up on the axe being for Juggs only!

PS:  odd design decision, imo.

The fun part is wielding it with your sovereign. Which I did once. It is awesome. It isn't the best quality weapon, but I was telling someone about how cool this game was and I told them the story of how I picked up this axe that only giants could wield, and my character was wielding it. Good stuff.

End of StillSingle's quote

19 attack (including trait that gives +1 attack) * 5 figure unit = 95 damage attack.

oh wow, you had a team of berserkers that don't like armour wielding giant axes!!  that is cool :D

So is the Sovereign waltzing around with the giant's axe :P

Does it actually show up stupidly large in the tactical battle? :D  I'd want it to look twice the size of my Sov if he/she was using it!!

I think this would be a nice move.

On the other hand, I wouldn't say no to an animated visual of a champion you've given the thing to hefting it, wobbling about, and then falling over on its face.  No words necessary.

In the previous game I played one of the AI sovs was actually using this weapon and path of the assassin. They had (enchanted backpack?) that gave +20 to strength and other +strength item equips, within the first 100 turns of the game as well, a formidable opponent.

Well you are still able to carry it about if you REAALLY want (And was born a trog). It was more for the flavour, and helping people understand it is not for a commoners hands...

I know you don't find it necessary...

On the contrary.  I was just having some fun--whoever heard of a little representative in a game about heroes picking up a heavy weapon, lurching about uncertainly, and then falling over?  Thought you, of all people, would catch that. ;) No harm done!
