Saw earlier bug fix in changelog and my Sov's Stun ability worked as it should in the same battle.
Hurl boulder is a magic spell in the earth school of magic. Ophidians should be immune to this.
Yeah Earth Adept 1 unlocks Hurl Boulder spell instead of Hurl Boulder ability. That's why the Ophid is immune.
Yep. It's the same for any ability. Hobble. Crushing Blow. Etc. Ophidians are immune to all of it.
Yet for some reason...they're NOT immune to Air Shrill attacks. 
EDIT: And as a side note, if another champion also has an ability that you want to cast against him/her....for example Crushing Blow, you will not be able to because that champion is already 'enchanted' with the Crushing Blow spell. Umm.....right.....
They messed with spell immunity and made some new bugs. It was fine at 100 Spell Resistance. Now monsters that have it are immune to anything in the core spells.
Oh,jeez, I figured it was like the ogre hurl boulder ability. I didn't realize it was a spell. D'oh! 
They actually f****d this up too and gave ogres and EE's the spell instead of the ability so they can't use it (they don't have mana.)
