Maybe the Wildlands non-release bug happens when you save on the turn just after you complete objectives but before they are updated?

Like with the Fire Elemental summon whose cost stayed around when it was saved on the turn of the Fire Elemental loss, maybe the Wildlands non-release is a variation on this?

Also, please provide some lore rationalisation for most things not updating until next turn?  I'm sure you could make something up that works at this. :D

I think Imperium can get fucked if there is a city built too close.  The way that is closes is that the demon gets killed and then there is the one spot that you can build a city, build it and the wildland goes away.  But, I think if there is already a city close by, you can't build a city in that spot and can't get rid of the wildland.  That is my current theory.

That is indeed what has happened in two of my games.  If a city is built within (I think) 6 tiles of the special buildable tile in the wildlands, it renders the wildlands quest unachievable.

I guess you have to take it over and raze it, and have a pioneer at the ready in the Wildlands. =)
