[1.0] [Suggestion] Tactical maps should scroll when you get to the edge of the screen (like in Strategic)

It's pretty often that I need to move the screen around in Tactical combat. A while ago, the Strategic view added the ability to scroll automatically when you went to the edge of the screen. This didn't get applied to tactical. Any chance of adding this (or is there an option somewhere to enable it)?

Seriously, this is a major flaw with the tactical map.  Especially when the opponant runs off of the visiable map and I need to pan out to find them.  The perspective of the tactical map appears to be fixed as well, rather than shifting with the action....

Agreed - it's sometimes rough casting Fireball when you've moved your Mage to the back of the map and your target is 15 tiles away off-screen.  It's too much work.

Agree too. This should be taken into account

You guys know about click'n'drag, right?

Edge-scrolling is so 1990's... ;P

Click and drag is not so good when it becomes "click and accidentally fireball only 1 enemy instead of him and his 3 friends".  Do you know how many level ups it take to get a defender with 100% fire resist? I put a lot of work into that - least i should get is a tactical ploy gauranteed to draw all the troops into one tight group and then fry them all to death without fear of misclick.

That's why you zoom out, angle, move the map before you hit the spell hotkey.  Also, right-click releases the spell from the cursor if your not happy.

I guess I disagree that edge-scrolling is a must-have issue.

Not saying it's required (there's a workaround as you mentioned), but the behavior isn't consistent with the Strategic view, which is strange. Why have a different way to interact with Tactical for navigating?

Agreed.

The battle camera should also snap back if set to do so in the options menu, and a few preset angles wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah, I know how it how it works.  But the suggestion to make it work better (not to mention internally consistent) is a good one for all the same reasons

+1 I was very surprised I couldn't scroll map in tactical view, it's the most basic function that should be there months ago. Didn't even know I can hold-drag :)

Confirmed that the behavior is the same in version 1.0 (which is what I expected).

At the very least it should follow the same options in the options menu...

Yes please for the love of god there should be edge scrolling in tactical mode. This is driving me crazy.

I really really want this... the game has trained me to zoom out and then zoom in on a different part of the map using mouse wheel... not cool!

It's really, really weird they didn't implement it, it's like no-brainer feature. What's funny, it wasn't implemented in Elemental neither and people complained about it back then, too.

I came to the forums to report this issue.  Very strange to me.  It took a long while to figure out that the mouse wheel centers the zoom so you can move it that way.  Feels clunky.

Edge scroll is a must for me.

The deserves my ugly mugg in here too, so bump

I found the scroll out/scroll in method accidentally, and am using it with no real problems, but I agree that this was the first thing I tried to do when an enemy moved out of sight.  Edge scrolling is more intuitive, I think.

Guess I'm one of the few who agree with mqpiffle, can't stand edge-scrolling. I do agree if it's on the main map it should be on the tactical though I suppose. I'd just eliminate from both though! :troll:

Ehm, yes lol fix it ? :D

How can they miss something like that or how can they make the dessication to not have it, booth are just plain stupid.

Odd, in tactical combat (as with the strategic map) I've got edge of screen scrolling across the whole of the battlefield.

Only change I have made to a clean 1.0 install is to set the following in the "mygames/fallen enchantress/prefs.ini" (so that I could run full screen at less than native resolution)

UseDesktopResolution=0

Fullscreen=1

Which may or may not be the reason I've been able to edge scroll.

P.S. I'm assuming everyone has already got the Edge Scroll option checked in the General Options.

Really? Interesting workaround if that's what fixed it, but I don't know why that should matter. Even if it does fix it, it should work at the default resolution, too.
