[0.99 and 0.991][bug not responding] Not responding on loading screen

Get a windows not responding bug on the startup loading screen.  Wait 15 to 45 seconds and program recovers and gets to the main menu.

I reproduced this bug multiple times.  How I did it.

1         Start up FE

2         When in the loading screen, click the mouse 1 to 10 times quickly.

3         The screen will then go black (window mode, labeled not responding)

4         If I hit the Ctrl button or Ctrl+(print Screen) when the loading screen is all black, the screen turns grey and windows gives the option of force closing the program.

5         If I wait long enough, the program recovers on its own and goes to the main screen.

Did you install e patch or a clean install?

This has always happened. When the game is putting together the data.zip you can just click the loading screen to crash the game. Solution? Don't click it.

I've had this issue since day one.  "Hey doc, my arm hurts when I move it this way."  Doc says, "Then don't move it that way".

 

Yea, pretty much have just learned to not click when it is loading.  Although, probably not a great thing for a game to do...

I get this problem as well, but this, I figured, is the program is loading. I know that this happens to a lot of programs when they are loading up.

Full clean install for 0.99.  Used the mini install from the .991 change log for .991.
