Is it just me or do monsters ignore AI factions and wander around until they find my faction?
This is the most discussed topic on the forum. Welcome newbie 
To be a bit more serious, The Frog (AI designer in FE) claims that the monsters doesnt know the difference between AI and human players. When a monster raze a resource its supposedly by random chance that the monster walks on it.
Lately I have seen that empires have been exterminated early game, indicating that they have been killed by monsters. Also remember that Tarth has some special protection against monster attacks and that there is some "monster repellent" thing that heroes can have.
It seems there is a lot more ignoring going on:
In one of my last games i arrived at enemy gilden cities, which were surrounded by non looted monster lairs, non looted equipment caches, roaming dragons, drakes, bears and several untriggered quest huts. Markinn was standing with a few troops nearby, but ofc the dragons made a beeline to me as soon as they saw me.
One case does not science make. This is a complicated issue, and I believe that the Frog is still working on it.
