[.983 Bug] Action bar still disappearing in tactical combat after spell cast

There have been a number of posts pointing out this bug, which is most often seen after a unit autocasts a spell at the beginning of combat.  See here for one of those posts.

But I just ran into it in the middle of a combat.  The Shrill Lord in the bottom right just cast Titan's Breath, and my champion Ralle Langet was next to move - but no action bar appeared for him:

yes this is happening often with amarian blood for example

what unlock the stucking situation usually is enemy turn

meaning i dont get action bar until an enemy move

I *think* Titan's Breath removes the ability of those hit by it to use items or spells for one turn.  I know that this has happened to me in the middle of combat with an Air Elemental.

I will randomly have this issue happen to me quite often, most often at the beginning of a turn. I have to auto-turn for my first guy up and then usually people after him will have the action bar reappear

You should at least get the "pass" button if the unit has no other options - having to toggle autoplay to advance the action qualifies as a bug by my definition.

This is happening to me when a dragon auto casts fear at the beginning of a battle.  Hitting the auto play button brings the action bar back.

This just happened to me again in the middle of a battle (NOT at the beginning) when a Fell Dragon cast Contagion.

Happened again in the middle of a battle when a Haunter cast Mass Curse. The next unit, my Bard, has no action bar.

This also has happened to me multiple times, I associated it with the pre-battle casting of fear because that is when it happened the most.  However there have been several battle where no one cast anything at the start of battle, and the first move of my first hero did not have access to the action bar.  Annoying as it wastes an action, but it usually starts happening later in the game when I'm more powerful and can win easily anyway.

I'm concerned that some reviewer is going to lose a close battle because of this bug and blast the game for it.  I sure hope they fix it before FE goes gold.

As an alternative to auto play, press spacebar to have your guy pass his turn. The next unit has its bar back.

Also worth noting: if you remember which spell is in which slot, you can still access his spells/abilities by pressing the corresponding number, even if you can't see them. The bug causes the bar to be invisible but doesn't actually disable anything.

Having said that,

No action bar doesn't equate to no moves, if a character is hit by Titan's Breath.  It simply means the character can't access any objects or spells for one turn.   In the meantime they can move, and attack.

Did you read the whole thread? It also has happened to me with Contagion and Mass Curse. Those spells don't remove the ability to cast spells or use abilities.  And besides, in the original post, my champion had resisted the Titan's Breath, so he should have been able to use spells/abilities.

I have read the whole thread, just as you have.  And I'm sure you've read that there are people assuming this happens for a particular spell, or race--such as Amarians.  So there are comments posted here that are factually incorrect; and I was responding to these.  Not to your remarks.

For the rest, this is a bugfix beta cycle we're in.  Like you, I don't like this bug, but I would expect it to be fixed before the game is released.

Remember, new beta due out later Monday.  Might be fixed by then.

But M is a good workaround, and thanks for pointing that out.
