[.983 Bug] Exploration Tech

Don't know if this is a bug or an actual game concept.  I keep getting quests (Humble Inns usually, medium level) which require the Exploration Tech.

I have yet to see Exploration show up in the Tech tree of any game I've played.  I also don't see Exploration listed in the Hiergamenon.

This goes back to .982.  Now I always play a custom Sov - Amarian Warlock, so maybe this choice has blocked this tech.

Just seems too basic a concept to be random or blocked in this way.

Yeah, the problem is your sovereign is really old and hasn't been updated through all the lastest changes.  I'd recommend deleting your soverieng and creating a new version to get the latest updated (and to make this issue go away).

Thanks for the response.  Glad it wasn't another bug you had to fix.  I'll remember to delete & rebuild my custom sov with new versions.

Derek - I'm still having issues with Quests.  I started a new game and once again I found a Humble Inn which says I need Exploration to go on Medium Quests.

I don't see any way to get Exploration in the Tech tree.

I also have a Camp and a Humble Inn  that say I need to learn Heroes to go on strong Quests.  I've already learned Heroes.

Have you tried an uninstall of the game and a new install? Sometimes the XML can have issues and that's fixed it for some folks.

As Seanw3 more wittingly implied.  Its not the new game, or even a reinstall of the game will fix it.  You custom sovereign is the issue, he was made before the quest change so he doesn't have it.  You will have to delete him and make a new custom sovereign.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear in reply #3, but that's exactly what I did.  I'm going to do a complete reinstall and then recreate my Sov.

And yes, my Sov is so old he remembers beating his kids at Atari Night Driver! }:)
