Anybody using Sions?
?
Oh sure. I group my Sions up with my Catapults and then throw in some Ogres to level things out.
No, never use them. By that time a low level pseudo-hero is not as good as a fully trained unit.
Not really, want me to test them out? (Thought about it, but did not get around to it).

Well with the lower research costs, I was able to beeline for Sions pretty quickly. I decided to make one but so far I'm underwhelmed... was wondering if maybe I was doing something wrong.
Tried them in one game so far. First I made one to be a fighter, a Guardian to be specific, in order to gain a nice tank with army bonuses for defending my cities. Then I realized this was a wonderfully expensive option to make a Governor out of. Not sure if 100 Gildar and 100 Influence is worth it though, especially not when compared to Altar Henchmen. Henchmen get to play around with an inventory, right? Sions don't.
They are the worst things in the game based on cost and ability.
Most of that stuff is too deep in the tech tree to be of any real value
I actually used to use them a lot in WoM, but they were really over powered in that game. I no longer use them. . . They've been nerfed enough to where it's an easy choice to just go around that tech.
Which is exactly why we should discuss them. To make them more useful and worth pursuing.
It's hard to know where to go with them. They need a big boost. If they were henchmen with out magic, that would work reasonably well. Or they would have to be changed in concept completely and be something more like a monster. But right now, they are terrible. Horrible. All things considered, the worst in the game, easily. Cost, research, survive-ability, utility, and power all add to the worst unit in the game. Right now, if you were to magically able to keep one alive until they reached 10th level, they would still be a mediocre unit.
Derek, maybe you need to take another look at Sions. Either make them "design"-able like slaves, juggernauts, golems, etc., reduce their cost, move them up in the tech tree, all of the above, or take them out completely.
Take them and use them as a faction ability, would give us 5 different faction specific units, that would give us 3 to go ![]()

If they could be either upgradable, like the Jugs and Golems, or have inventories like Henchmen, they would be useful. If make them into a faction unit, should they be for Krax or Wraiths? Either one works for me, but I guess Wraiths seems more fitting.
