[0.982] Broadsword vs Sharp Broadsword

Both items are from loot. The only difference is +2 Crit Chance, +0.5 Crit Multiplier. Imho the difference doesn't worth 144 gildar (153-9) and level 6 requirement.

Plus 2 crit chance, and a crit multiplier are pretty valuable.

Broadsword is strong enough even without crit chance/multiplier. Imho Broadsword should require level. The problem is that Broadsword is from Warfare technologies. It can't require level from trained units. I think Broadsword and similar items should either require level from champions or not be available as loot. Its fine.

Item could be a little cheaper on the resale...but overall it's fine. It's nice to get a bit of a surprise in the loot now and again.

"Value" is pretty meaningless since you get like 5 or 10% of that value when you sell it. It certainly isn't a good way to determine what a strong item is.

Actually "Value" is sale price. So you can sell Broadsword for 9 gildar, Sharp Broadsword for 153 gildar.

I'm pretty sure this is correct, and I agree, that 153 compared to 9 seems silly with it being only slightly better.

i think crit multiplier is x100

that should be 50% more dmg on crit...

and crit if stacked is over the top op

Well, that's not a problem then. That's a feature! XD

value is generated in context to what you are doing, so if you are looking at something in your inventory it's how much money you will sell it for... if you are looking at something on a shopkeeper it will be how much you buy it for. That being said, looks like the sharp broadsword probably has too high of a value, we will look at balancing those out a bit (our intent is not that you can replace economic growth with just selling loot but more supplement it)

Shouldn't a sharp sword do at least +1 damage? That is how I balanced it.

I think Derek's design intent is that 'sharp' is basically the crit pre-fix and that he wants to keep the actual attack numbers the same across the same basic weapon type.  Imo it matters more that the sell prices/rarity number are in line with the amount of an upgrade it is. That will designate where it falls in balance with other weapons.

For an assassin, it's an excellent weapon.  That multiplier is great, and I write from experience.

He might wanna take a look at the dagger and the sharp dagger then.
