[0.981] Alchemy spell
Alchemy spell: Convert 100 mana into 100 gildar. Who uses this spell? 1 mana costs not less than 3 gildar. Imho need buff.

well it could help in the situations where you are playing mainly warriors so dont use much mana but randomly you get to have many shards
or maybe you want to hire a lvl 9 champion and desperately ned a bit more money
The spell is a very high mana cost for the gildar. If the gildar was harder to aquire from quests and such, for example escorting a noble woman gives 300 gildar. That seems excessive, how about maybe 100 gildar tops. If I take the bow and sell it, I couldn't get 100 gildar for it. Same with the doom club. This would make gildar more valuable to put the alchemy spell in line.
It we take the premise that 1 mana is 1 gildar, then balance throughout the game should reflect this, otherwise I agree with the original post and the spell needs to buff the gildar amount for the sake of balance.
If you are playing mainly warriors you don't need to build improvements on shards. Anyway Alchemy is very inefficient way to convert resources.
I would like this spell to be able to cast the converse too... gold into mana.
I find this spell completely overpowered. I have tonnes of mana kicking around and I can 1:1 convert it into gold for my rush builds. Absolutely insane.
Imo, it should be a 4:3 ratio instead. As is, it's a no brainer to use and abuse.
Never use this spell, I can find better uses for my mana ![]()
Gold I usually have enough of, from spamming cities.

why is that?
after a bit the tech cost like 1 turn to research and improvements couple turns to build
surely i dont prioritize them but when they its cheap why not?
Where do you get the mana dude? I never have enough.
If you don't need mana and shard effect, there is no reason to build improvements on shards. It is better to build units and military/economy buildings. If you reach max army size and build all military/economy buildings, why you still don't win? Anyway you can get idle bonus instead of building unnecessary shards.
the point is i dont use mana in combat with warriors but i use enchants
enchants are so op...
so i have everything full enchanted but ofc i keep 2 3 mana per turn in excess
if nothing happens for some dozen turns then i have 100 200 mana to spend, maybe on new enchants if i need them, if not and i need a champion money is a good choice, anyway that mana is just an emergency pool
By season 100 I'm often gaining between 16-24 mana a turn. Add in that I don't 'waste' my mana in combat and only use it when necessary, I'm usually sitting on quite the stockpile.
Hmm thinking about this, while I use my mana (actually used alchemy once today, like wow 100 gold >_<). You might be right at the exchange, I don't mind alchemy and it should in no way be nerfed badly, mostly because while it might be powerful to convert mana to gold, its also some of the fun stuff in the game ![]()
a 100 mana into 75 gold is still ok, I don't mind, I only use alchemy when I have too much mana and need gold, and I guess so would anyone else.

I'm with Trojasmic on this. I have similar mana income by that time, but I play a massively mana-heavy strategy (lots of enchants, clumsy sov with all schools of magic available) so I find myself always starved for mana. I never use Alchemy, as I find it far more difficult to find uses for gildar than mana.
The truth is both gold and mana is valuable resources, and both can be used to each they're ends.
They are both good, and if firefly want to play without using mana, thats fine, that is why I like spells like alchemy, I remember there being a different feature in MoM.
Gold is just used in huge chunks from the shop, those prices are insane for leather armour.
Also I use gold for rushing city stuff most of the time, 75 gold can go into 6 ish turns of production on the "average" city.

It's fine.
