[.982] Game Lag

I just upgraded to the .982 patch and tried to play. The game lags horribly. The strategy map portion is at like 1/2 to 3/4 speed. The tacticla combat is pure lag. Even with just the sovereign and a single enemy unit at x5 animation speed it does not evne approach to the speed of x1 from the previous patch.

 

Unless someone has a solution to fix it then the game is not worth playing until a patch fixes it.

You should post a debug.err so they can determine the problem. Also the version number is .981.2

I am having the same problem.  FRAPS is only showing 42 fps and that's at the very beginning of the game with only one town.  No AA, no Shadows or townspeople.  It's not good.

You should post your debug.err or at the very least tell the dev's what your system you are running. Windows XP, Windows 7, 64 bit or 32 bit. 2 gig of ram or 16 gig of ram? What is your video card, are your drivers up to date?
