981 - Its not a bug - Its a feature!!! - Mite lairs with no mites

Not Complaining - Repeat not

Just down loaded 981 and took it for a test drive over a map that I had played in tghe previous version i.e. from a turn 1  to get a sense of feel

I am very impressed, however I thought it odd that in about 30 turns I have come across two mite lairs w non of the little pests home nor even in sight

I think this should be considered a feature

I just realized that I should clarify - all the other Lairs in the area are still populated - so It doesn't appear that an AI player has cleaned them out

I had the same problem in .980 !!!

Might be some files didn't get installed properly, HP per level changed, this needed a certain boost to be given to mites so they would not auto-die... Meaby that part did not install on your computer.

Try explaining what faction you were playing, meaby give a screenshot of the lairs, and also monster density settings and world difficulty.

World difficulty might have a thing to do with it, I know they have double hp on ridiculous, so might be some easier levels just kill off all the mites to help you get more free loot :)

This is because its a save game.  The hit point formula changed in 0.981.  Under the new formula mites have 0 hit points, so they die immediatly.  If you werent playing a save game (which saves all the mite stats) you would have the new mite stats which have be rebalanced to work with the new hp formula.

Sounds weird that savegames only saves half the stats :S

[insert cute picture of a mite]

Don't kill another innocent mite. Start a new savegame every time.

The savegame saves all the stats.  What it doesn't change is actual game engine.  The hp calculation changed in the game engine, which makes the mites die with their old stats.

This is why you start a new game with new patches. Shit gets weird and innocent Mites dies.

I just thought hp per level would be a per game thingie, something that would change in mods too for example. Thats all

Exactly, that's why you don't load unmodded save games into a mod.  Mites bite the dust.

Friends don't let friends load saved games from previous versions.
