[bug] [0.98] several small bugs found

repost from FE Beta forum

I somehow kind of missed the line stating I should post in the FE Support forum..... so here it is again.

1. I activated a dragons fire breath in tactical battle, and it won't stop fire breathing. I can continue the battle and during the entire battle the firebreath animation will continue.

2. The growth spell will shrink my character, bonuses are accurate but visually it's weird. worked fine previously.

3. the random event where the first trained units in the build queue will be finished amongst other things didn't do anything.

4. At the start of a tactical battle i sometimes can't see the action/spell bar of the first hero who's turn it is. Even though it has access to spells.

5. Early in one game all of the city limits disappeared (the red territory borders). Exiting and reloading fixed this.

6. The Mana-shield & Mana Blast spells are waaaay too powerful. Especially mana blast, 30 mana for 500 damage and save for half? I used it to one-shot everything from level 20 heroes to dragons. And since I found the spells with a party of 3 heroes all 3 heroes have it. Suggestion: If you find it give it to a single hero and nerf the damage.

7. No idea if it should be possible, but i encountered an AI hero with 215 attack due to an absurd amount of burning blade spells. Killed him anyway, mwahaha

I still have the saved games where some of these issues occurred, i could find them if it would help. And on the same note: if i would reload an old save where something happened would the game recreate a relevant debug.err file?

Thanks and keep up the amazing work on this awesome game!

I have also encountered 2 and 4 in my most recent 0.98 game.   I agree with point 6.   I used a hero who was at level 1 to wipe out Gilden just by equipping him with reasonable armor (master chain I think), putting mana shield on him and using mana blast and a bow to kill all Gilden's armies.   Gilden had annoyed me for various reasons so I kind of enjoyed the extra humiliation for him when getting his empire wiped out by such an under developed hero while my level 20 odd heroes sat back but I really should not have been able to do that.   I had built up a large mana pool too so it would not have been possible if I did not have a hefty reserve.

1: I tried this out and had no problems... Was is a storm dragon? What faction were you playing as? What unit were you casting the breath on if you remember? Did it kill them?  Any more details would be good.

2: I tried Growth also and had no issues on my sovereign and a trained unit, what were you casting on?  Again, who are you playing, who cast it, what else can you (either of you) remember about when it happened?

3: Fixed for the next patch

4: I think I found out what this is, it seems to happen for me when I'm using a unit with an autocast spell that goes off at the start of battle (EX: fear on a storm dragon).  Let me know if people KNOW they have seen this on units that didn't cast something to start a fight.

5: Again, need more info on what was going on to be able to help with this.

6: Seems to me like the problem is that you have 5000 mana sitting around with nothing you want to cast ;) doing 500 damage for 30 mana should be an extreme case as it's only 10% of your mana.

7: Burning blade is a spell marked as non-stackable.  I tested and you cant cast it on your own units multiple times, however, the AI casts spells in it's own ways and may be accidentally cheating ;)  if you have a save with this that would help, or if people see it in the future let me know and we will look into it further

End of Kestral2040's quote

He was probably casting Growth on a unit on a mount.  It causes them to shrink because the mount has a scale that we apply negatively to the unit to keep the unit scale the same.  Adding a growth multiplier makes the negative multiplier bigger and down goes the unit.  There is a bug in for it.

4. I haven't seen this yet in beta 5, but I definitely did see it (and frequently) in beta 4.  Does the Amarian haste ability count as an "autocast"? If so, that's probably why I was seeing it.
