[0.98 Inaccessibility Battle Unit Bug] Sometimes in big maps, you can't target enemies off screen, and you have to resort to auto-move.

Either the map screen needs to be bigger, or you need to be able to click on your unit and then click on a unit in the queue that is currently completely off the screen.  But for polish purposes I suggest you allow scrolling to the edge of the map at ALL areas.

Im not sure what you mean by this, could you provide a save or a screen shot of the issue oyu are running into?

There was a thread during beta 4 about this, if I'm thinking of the same thing the OP is reporting.  The problem is that some tactical battle maps are larger than the screen or window size, and that if the focus shifts to one of your units, enemy units at the far end of the map can scroll off the window (since the focus centers on your unit).  In order to target such an enemy unit for a ranged attack (as an example), you then have to either zoom out until you can see the enemy unit, or click and drag the map until the unit becomes visible.  Side scrolling doesn't work, and in my case at least once zooming wouldn't work, I had to drag the map.

Well said, Publius. The general issue is that the zoom level isn't quite right. I shouldn't need to zoom out when I start a new battle- it should show all the units on screen by default so I can gauge my opposing army's strength without needing to change the zoom level, at least initially.
