[0.981] New font looks terrible

Is it supposed to look like this? See screenshot.

Running Win XP 32-bit with ATI HD4850.

That does look terrible, font appears to be pixel-snapped. Do you run with ClearType disabled?
This is just a guess, I have no idea if the new font rendering system is even affected by that setting.

For reference, here's what it looks like on my Win7 64-bit w/ClearType enabled:

Yeah, that is weird.  I was going to post that I love the new fonts!!!  Wonder what is going on for you.

It does look like cleartype is disabled in the OS.

Thanks guys, enabling Cleartype did the trick.

And now I remember why I disabled it... My eyes must be seriously messed up, I find it much harder to read text with cleartype enabled.

Looks great in the game though. :)
