HP Level Bonus

HP Level Bonus is the same for all units: 4 HP per level. So units becomes tanks in mid-late game. Sometimes you need dozens of strikes to defeat a unit in mid-late game. It is tedious. Early battles are much faster and more enjoyable. Maybe we have to lower HP Level Bonus to 1-2 HP per level.

I strongly agree!!

we need more accuracy/dodge/spell resistence X level and less HP

Agreed that hp to damage to armour balance is very wrong, especially with grouped units gaining tons of hp by level 5...

But you also get access to better weapons and therefore higher attack values?

 

On one hand people complain about uber heroes, on the other on recruited units with too much HP??

Champions are units too. They gain 4 HP per level too. Champions gain levels much faster then units. So lowering HP Level Bonus nerf champions even more than trained units.

I didnt want to check in lower hit points and an armor nerf in the same patch.  But I am running with a base 6 hp +3 per level right now (instead of 4 + 4 per level).  And I may play with +2 per level depending on how this turns out.

Very good to hear. This has always bugged me. High hp from levels makes it too easy to steamroll the AI with a single stack.

Just remember to take into considerations the racial blood abilities that alter HP per LEVEL. all I ask :)
Think they would be slightly better if they could be changed slightly too, depending on whether its a hero or a trained unit to gain the benefit.

1: Thats technology that unlocks these, not unit levels, this should be alleviated by armor and new better traits, or something else.... (Not really feeling that now, but thats just tiny numbers.

2: I don't want trained units to get worse, just altered. More hp for a level 1 unit, less hp for a lvl 10 unit. Make unit levels to hp do less of a difference.

hp per level are quite fine

 

there are many other stats more unbalanced and broken, also mages and melees scales really a lot so few hp per level isnt really an issue

i still have to test properly .98 armors and new stuff though but surely hp isnt a problem at all

but if you already think hps might be too many why on earth add an improvement giving 10% hp to EVERYTHING?

 

anyway i think it doesnt matter at all, hps are fine anyway even if a bit lower (but then you want to nerf a bit some spells otherwise 1shotting everything)

there are many other stats more unbalanced and broken, also mages and melees scales really a lot so few hp per level isnt really an issue

Really? How to balance damage of spells and weapons if HP can be in range, say, 20-100? For example, in Age of Wonders tier 1 units have about 10 HP, tier 2 ~ 15 HP, tier 3 ~ 20 HP, tier 4 ~ 30 HP. Combat spells are adapted to these values.

champions lvl 10 15 are not supposed to die in 1 2 hits anyway

 

and hp are not a deep defense mechanic thas the point

 

if we ever want to balance things we should watch spells dealing 100 dmg or weapons of 50+ and stuff like that, hps scale normally imo, im not saying they are perfect the point is still there is so many things more unbalanced, first we balance those, then after the main things are in set we thing about minmaxing the hps
