[.98][bug]AI STILL Able To Build Outposts Within Minimum Tile Distance

Why, oh why?  It make me cry.

The AI does tend to sometimes randomly throw outposts, but this is absurd. I've seen the AI in .952 build 3 outposts near one another, when only one could have covered all the nearby resources.

This should be a priority for Beta 5A.

I a-bump-salutely agree.

Ug and if you watch the ai there also just throwing pioneers around without escorts and building dbl towers, some real problems going on here, it effecting their expansion rate, current beta is pretty much hosed til this is fixed.

This needs to be fixed.

Brad is on to it.

Quoting Frogboy,
I think I found the bug that causes this. Will be testing.  It's amazing how something that seems unrelated can affect another thing.

I always wondered if it is because the AI has 2 pioneers next to each other and they decided to plop down outposts at the same time (something a play is unable to physically do).

That is definitely not the case. Take a look at this.

My outpost was there first. Resoln build all the others one at a time.

@ Derek Paxton:

What about AI building outposts too close to their cities? Often I take over an enemy city with outposts only 1-2 squares away. Effectively useless.

I would think a minimum of 4 squares should be in effect...

Re they smart enough to build fortify and armory improvements? Those effect cites so it is'nt completely useless

Sometimes they start out a decent amount away, only to have the cities grow to them.  Or maybe the AI REALLY wanted that city to get an embassy growth bonus :P
