I guess AI can't cope with the crappy starts a human player can get.  Zilch for essence.  No shards.  Is that your border, Tarth? or is it adjacent to wildlands?

I have seen a few Sovs die right away. This would explain what is happening. We need starting location refinement.

It's wildlands. It seems that AI can't  move through it.

Anyway there are no other lands on this tiny map where Lord Markin can found his kingdom.

I have seem AI fail to found the first city. This occurs when the tile they start on has no yields. Sometimes they move and come across anOtyer tile with yields, then they settle there. But if they don't, they are done for. The AI is not capable of selecting a tile with yields using the sovereign.

I posted a turn one save game that should be easier to debug. Has nothing to do with starting with no tile yields, the AI is capable of moving to the nearest location (In a suspiciously direct route...)
