City artifacts

It would be nice if, when your champion is in a town, the Trade Screen allowed you to trade equipment to the town.  You could leave equipment you are not using in a town where other champions could come and pick it up.

You could also build further on this idea by making some of the artifacts that you find in various quests be items that affect the city that they are placed in.  You could also make the Wildlands trophies into such items and be able to move them if you wanted to.

MoM did this very well with the item 'vault'.

A similar approach could easily be implemented. While in your ZoC, you can store stuff away into your vault. Another hero can come to the ZoC at a later time and pick things up.

Definately better than having to hunt eachother down just to share equipment. I thought stardock was trying to avoid that type of micromanagement.

AOW:SM did not have a 'vault' but it did allow each hero to carry (not the same as equipping) items and allowed you to teleport items to any hero you wanted. Teleporting items cost an amount of mana based on how far away the target hero was. Loved this system.

I also agree 1000% that we need a better artifact-sharing tool.

Possible options would be:

- a vault allowing you to store and retrieve artifacts while in your ZoC (kind of like the shop, only for free :))

- a "teleport artifact" spell like the one in AoW (slightly less costly and advanced than Cloud Walk, perhaps?)

- a "packmule" unit or ability which allows us to send artifacts to different locations via other units (not heroes)

End of ins2's quote

Or all three of the above methods. The "teleport artifact" could be a Magic Tree tech to allow you to do this.

The "packmule" could be a Military Tree Tech to allow this,

The Vault could be a Civ Tech or just the basic default however I like it as a tech.

Why make a spell that teleports only one item? Why not make a spell that grants access to a common "stash" (like Diablo 3 or even like the extraplanar chest from Temple of Elemental Evil) with every use? Therefore each casting of the spell lets you deposit and/or withdraw as many items to and from the caster's party.

In any case, any sort of item sharing solution would be appreciated.

I concur with DexCisco. As for the rest, I'll handle my own courier arrangements.

I keep bringing up that a teleport artifact item would be perfect. We have the mana, we have vast distances, we have different strengths of items. What is there left to ponder about?

Mana cost(teleport item) = Distance * Item Quality
