[Bug] [0.951] Ogre Lair and Essence

Hi there, I noticed everytime I meet an Ogre Lair, the area around it was FILLED with 3 essence squares, so I thought something was fishy, then I saw an ogre and decided to attack, 2 squares next to the ogre was 3 grain and 3 material, and as I killed the ogre and walked into its square, they both gained 3 essence.

Sadly I forgot to take a screenshot BEFORE attacking.

This is a bug? iirc it's in the XML files that Ogre Lairs produce quite a bit of Essence much like shards do. Seems to be intended.

Hmm... might be the case but doesn't make sense... right?

Ogres are not naturally magically. I thought they mostly lived in their own dung.

It may be a case of the ogres settling where there was magic.

One of the blurbs I ran across (I think it was on the Mastery Quest) explained that the Ogres were creatures magically bred for battle by the Titans. That sounds pretty magical to me. Maybe their dung carries the Essence into the earth. :P

Meh, I'll take any essence 3 location I can get. XD

Well if they are, why do the place only turn magical after beating the ogres and searching they're lairs?
Seems like very odd behaviour IMO, and that is why I petitioned it.

They should change it to Ogre Magi lairs which would make since. And they can still have a normal Ogre Lair which does not have Essence. But if they do decide to have Ogre Magi then they better cast spells on me in combat and be a little more powerfull than the normal Ogre.

I had an odd situation where I could settle a 5/2/3 location... found it with wandering hero. Ordered up a pioneer, took him over there, and the specific tile was no longer settleable. Absolutely nothing changed (no new settlements were founded nearby) other than I was killing stuff all around it... and there was an ogre lair nearby. So now I'm wondering if the ogre may have made the nearby tile settleable but when I killed him it wasn't? It was very strange. I had seen something like it before but at the time I chalked it up to my senility. Twice though makes me wonder...
