Time to schedule a vacation day - October 16 Release date?

Stardock, I love y'all.  I love the way you operate.

Checked Elemental on Steam and saw a release date months earlier than what I had anticipated (I was honestly thinking first quarter 2013; Dec 2012 at the earliest).

As soon as I get to work today, I'm taking 16 Oct off.  And probably 17 Oct.

Also, I'll probably buy E:FE on Steam GamersGate, just as a vote of confidence for the game and the company.  I'd been debating paying for something that I already have, but after participating in the beta, why wouldn't I support y'all?

Loving the patch right now, keep up the good work.

That's sooner than I expected. I'm not complaining, as the game has matured greatly. I just hope the polish aspects can be added to make the game feel more professional. It's come a long way, but there's still more to do.

I wouldn't schedule any vacation around that date as it strikes me as more like an aspiration rather than a deadline.  Brad has been clear that the game isn't going to release until it's ready.  Since WoM's launch issues were entirely the result of Stardock rushing the game out the door to hit a delivery deadline, I'd be stunned to find that they'd made any serious commitment to an actual date at this point.

FE is far beyond WoM and much closer to my expectations.  But I don't know if a month-and-a-half is enough time to clean up the UI, train up the AI, kill the crash bugs and loading bugs and graphic bugs and get everything sorted and ready for release.

We originally were going to say the release date was February 2012. But you have to put a date in the future. ;)

Have you been playing around with the time machine again? ^_^

October 16th?

That seems quite soon considering the number of bugs and glitches and concept ideas that are still being tossed around on these threads.

Now, I'm no programming expert, but I just think that 1.5 monthes ain't going to be enough time to address everything that needs addressing...

Being the end consumer, I'd rather the game take longer to release, but release right...rather than the other way around...

Exactly.  You nailed it! We've had plenty of disappointments this year already.  With the poor launch of E;WoM, I am afraid there is some tunnel-vision happening again.

It's important to read the whole thread before posting.  If you had bothered, you would have noticed Frogboy's reply.  The release date on Steam isn't real (unless you think Stardock's planning to release FE 7 months ago).

With the right kind of sci-fi game, maybe not.

Funny you should say that.  You should probably do a little reading yourself.  It was mentioned that they had a fall 2012 release in another thread.
