Frogboy, likely support for co-op MP if FE does well?

Frogboy, will FE likely support full co-op MP if the game does well, which is the MP mode most suited to primarily single player focused turn-based strategy games?  I'm know MP is very likely for post release, but it would be great if this included co-op since it is most suited.

Best regards,
Steven.

I still wonder why people ask questions with titles :S... Seems kind of lazy >_<
He did have a personal interest in a MP module... I think, besides I know it all depends on how well the game does at launch, so he cannot promise anything now.... ish... (Not trying to talk for him, but thats the impression I have gotten about expansions etc in this game).

Don't be ridiculous. Titles should be descriptive, and what's more descriptive than putting the actual question in the title?

Frogboy has said that he is pushing for MP but it is totally Derek's call. You should be asking Derek not Brad.

I think this is virtually guaranteed. Even E:wom supported it, and we can already divide the factions into teams in FE in single player.

You say that E:WoM "Supported" multiplayer as if E:WoM supported "working" or "being fun".

I do think there is enough community interest and there has been enough dev chatter to the effect that it is more likely than not that FE will get some form of multiplayer once the base single player experience has been fleshed out and made solid.

MP is MP if they have it in a future expansion then it should not just be for Co-op but for normal PVP as well.

Well, if they do that system where you get notified when you need to have turns or battles, then there's no technical reason why all MP wouldn't be possible.  I already know from Frogboy's comment that they want to have MP based on how much work has already been done on it.  But since MP often means "competitive MP" I was just wondering if co-op was likely to be included.

Anygame that has MP (shooters, TBS, RTS, RPG) also has co-op. There is no special rules or set up needed for this. It is all up to the players.  Now I would love a Hot-seat option so I can play more than one Nation at a time.

Anyway, I can't delete the thread so I will leave it for future.

Dont be unhappy because you can delete it, ps. My mood might swing depending on when I an posting stuff here so sometimes I let a little steam off :)

Atleast now other people with the same questions can go here, look at the answers and ask a question for themselves if they want!
(I love the internet sometimes xD).

No, I wasn't offended. =)  But I did realise that in a way, the question had already been answered, especially later in the thread.  There was going to be MP, and since you can make alliances or teams in FE, co-op comes by default.  But still, even if competitive MP does come as well as co-op, I wouldn't like MP in FE to get too nasty.  Respect and all that. =)

Assuming the game does even moderately well, which is looking more and more likely, we plan to keep enhancing it for years to come, especially in terms of MP and social gaming.

Hell, I'd like to see people make their own quests and campaigns and share them.  The campaign Jon Shafer has made "The Fallen Enchantress" was done entirely with built in tools (i.e. no special programming) and it's insane in how complex you can get.

Seriously, go back and play Baldur's Gate and look at it carefully from what it does.  Obviously it's a masterpiece of story and content. But feature wise, it's not really beyond what a modder could do.  Now, imagine a co-op campaign where the players are in the same world but in different places.

These are not promises, mind you.  This sort of thing takes money and time to do. But it gives you an idea of what sorts of things we'd like to do.

BTW, this causes some confusion from time to time but Draginol is an alias I use when I am writing blogs that are unrelated to Stardock. Sometimes I forget to relogon.

Sorry, but you said it, so we therefore assume it's a done deal.  Any failure of it to materialize will be met with endless wailing and accusations that you've deceived us.
