2010 Purchase of WoM Makes FE free?

I'm excited to purchase and play Fallen Enchantress in the near future. I bought E: WoM early in March 2010 after being impressed by the promotional material and its likeness to other empire-building games in the same vein, but never installed it after a slew of reviews panned the game as virtually unplayable.

I don't have any problem buying FE outright, but I've heard that, for those that originally bought E: WoM in 2010, FE will be free. If so, I'm curious how I'd go about verifying that I qualify. Should I install E: WoM or is FE standalone? Can I authenticate only by installing E: WoM? Is the discount/free download available only to those that installed the game previously?

If you bought WoM the year it came out and registered it online you should get FE for free. If you did not register it before Jan 1, 2011 then you only get $10 off. I assume you get the discount after registering.

 

The new game is stand-alone so you dont need to install anything else.

If you preordered from us back then, FE should already be present on your Stardock account and can be obtained from the downloads page on store.stardock.com. If you don't recall your account details from back then, contact [email protected] and they should be able to assist.

Good luck. Fallen Enchantress is already great in my opinion. Its what I play when I have some gaming time available. A beta that is fun and got me off Skyrim, its an impressive thing.

Kryo - Unfortunately, I did not install the game after I bought it. It remains in the box. I am happy to furnish to Stardock or any other party any of the relevant product information that may be required as proof of purchase.

If you bought it from us, it will have been registered automatically regardless since all purchases included the direct download as well. If not, you may be misremembering the year since it the game wasn't released until August 2010.

Ah! You are correct that I misremembered the date of my purchase. Looking back at Amazon's confirmation e-mail, the DVD-ROM was shipped in-box in late August 2010. I will explain via an e-mail to the address that you posted. Thanks again!
