Noob questions

Hi There,

Been playing the beta for a week now, really enjoying the game already.

But in every game I played till now, after a turn or 30-50 it seems all the AI players get way ahead of me..
Looking at the topright corner where the empire strengths are measured, the AI is in their 50s or something, while I barely touch the 20s.

What could be the cause for this ?
(Playing on normal difficulty btw)


I always try and build/train/research whenever I can, I try and expand my territory as much as I can, with outposts or cities even, but still it seems I'm way behind the rest.

Also is there perhaps a ''how to'' for new players, with pointers on what to do ?

This is actually not a problem. It means that you are building your empire, while the AI is getting units. If you are levelling your sovereign, a champ or two and possibly a unit or two (spearmen, shadow warg or something), then you are fine. When the first war comes (as the AI believe that the score advantage means a win), then you use your levelled army to take a city or two from him with little problem. Then you have about four cities and can produce more units. Your empire strength will rise quite fast. :d

Ah so the number is all about the units trained, and not about the whole empire ?
