[9.15][Suggestion] Shard monsters a little underwhelming . . .

Roselin's(sp?) faction ability is pretty underwhelming. The shards only produce one monster each and they start off very weak. They have about 15 HP on average which makes it very hard for them to survive long enough to even see level 2 or 3. If that one monster dies and I can't find anymore shards how do I get more summons?

well, I can't speak for the other shard types yet, but in my game playing this faction my death shard has summoned at least four creatures.  I now have an army of creatures that add to their numbers when they kill something.  they get powerful very quickly if you play them wisely in a tactical battle.

My other shards haven't finished the shrines yet so I can't say anything about those yet.

Odd how did you get them to generate more? When I clicked on my shards they all say max units summoned after the first one pops out. Maybe there is a mechanic involved that I'm not understanding.

I agree the death one can get pretty powerful but the rest of them are pretty weak. Even then the death one has to be babied until it can level up and going in for the finishing blow usually ends up getting it killed. Nevermind going into a combat with ranged units. It will be the first thing dead.

In my game they continue to summon more monsters as well. Maybe it is a bug that has something to do with their ability?

My main problem with the summoned monsters is not that they are weak, they are tough enough considering how fast you get them, it is that chainmail basically makes them obsolete. Since Roseln now doesn't even get chain or plate mail they get hammered late game. They trade the ability to produce tough late game units for some nice early game units... It's fine if you plan on rushing like mad but otherwise your screwed.

Units with champion or plate mail eat dragons and the bound elementals are very very far from a dragon's level.

No, they are definitely not summoning more. I have a few of every shard in my game and it summons only one. The description on the shard says MAX 1 ALLOWED summon monster. If yours are summoning more then it must be a bug in your game because the description specifically says max allowed 1. If you have more it is because you built another shard.

whoa weird. I just loaded up my save from yesterday and the shards now say 10 turns until next summonable creature, weird. Guess they do respawn, don't get it.

If the summons get too weak in the end game, I think that they should increase in power with the number of shards, maybe gain 1 level / shard after the first, or maybe something like +1 Attack and +1 Defense / Shard.

I am thinking there is something which affects how many you can have at one time because my shards nowi say 3 is the max. At one time they definitely said 1, so perhaps your level or some skill or technology affects it. I wish they would tell us these things.

I made sure not to fight any battles with ranged units when I was powering up my death shard creatures.  lol.  now they are very powerful.  plus I level as fast as possible and "rush" to get black magic mastery.  I then up my initiative on my sov. so I get some massive weakening spells fired off on the enemy.  things like mass curse render all armor useless so those late game powerhouses fall quickly before my units.

Sounds like we need higher level summons, or maybe the Summons should be dependent on the sovereign's magic levels?

It does sound like Resoln needs some late-game summons at least, like the lvl 4 summons in AOW.  (and make a goodie version for life shards also, for the custom sovs)

Tech progression is kinda off kilter with the rest of FE pace wise so it would be very hard to time any sort non tech requirement like magic level.

Basically however the defense and to a lesser degree attack on the bound elemental needs to be more competitive late game. I'm thinking that as they level they need to have much higher increases in non-hp stats, especially defense. You could also have magic techs that boost their summoned level. Another idea is to have different bound elementals have different tech requirements so that some only spawn late game.

I think spells which could be cast that buff only summonses would be cool.

Yea so sounds like there is a bug with the number of summons you can get or some mechanic we don't know about that alters the amount.

And some late game monsters would definitely help. Having no army as a disadvantage Cersea shouldn't have such a glass cannon feature.

The death shard demon gets strong VERY fast and is a game winner. I have 6 in my current game with 372 hitpoints EACH. I dont care if they have low defense, they rock :d

The trick is to attack bandits/mites and weak stuff to get them to multiply. Once you get them split to 4 they are strong enough to take on more stuff.

Try this and they will surprise you and win the game for you easily.

As it stands, in my current game I have about a dozen shard summons that clog up my units UI (as they slowly make their way across the map) that I mainly use as dispensable meat shields.  I

Instead of multiple shards providing multiple weak summons, they should make the summons stronger: providing them new abilities and stat bonuses.  It would be way cooler to have that fourth death shard make my demon unit into an unstoppable juggernaut than to have that fourth death shard provide me with a weak unit that will not survive any battle in the mid-game.

since i either didn't read it here or overlooked it(in that case: sorry) - Civil tech King of the Wastes strengthens the summon stats.

Cyndrum to ATT13, HP24, btw...

You are wasting them, and that is not the games fault.
