Thought the skill "binding" would be cool but it isn't

Yeah it is awesome getting a creature from the shards but you only get one per shard and once it is killed, it never respawns back which I think is lame. It is fine only being able to have one per shard, but when it dies, the shard should respawn a new one. It isn't like they are so powerful, they aren't that strong. It would make the skill much more useful this way. As it is right now, it is weak.

The earth shard one seems mad overpowered actually...

I think that being able to re-build killed creatures is a good solution, but I don't think its the only good solution.

I think that one way to maybe balance the ability better is to make the summons start at higher levels with more shards. So if you capture a 3rd Air shard, you get a 3rd level creature instead of a level 1 creature.

Is this ability abuseable by razing a shard and rebuilding it? I assume 10 gold is pretty cheap for a creature.

Also, what happens when you capture a city that already has a shard built?

You can't raze shards at all. I think you only get a monster when building a new shard.

I believe it's 10 turns after the creature dies, the shard will spawn another.

If the shard is merged into a city, you will not see the timer on the shard.

The creatures themselves aren't THAT useful - I use the air ones to scout and the earth ones aren't terrible.   They do artificially increase your faction power to possibly help you keep up with the AIs.

I find them to be quite useful. You have to baby them a bit at the early levels, but with the right enchantments and experience, they become quite a threat.

They do respawn - after 10 turns. And with each shard upgrade, the creatures get tougher.

The death shard demons are amazing.

I love Binding.

He's right. You don't get a "you win" prize, but a fixer-upper, something you can build over time into a powerful ally. That's always good to have around.

Which makes them far worse then normal troops and thus not worth putting in your main stack because stack sizes are so limited. Which in turn means they are only useful as back up troops or city garrisons, and thus aren't that good.

He's right the normal troop stack usually out do the normal summons, and beasts. Keeping the summons around as a fixer up sounds good, but we need more tools to actually do that. there not much in for patching up unit's like that. I think there should be something to fix that.
