Haven't heard much from team lately...

Is that because you're all very busy or playing Diablo 3/Torchlight 2?  :D

I'd really like an update, please. You guys are certainly headed in the right direction. When can we expect the City management changes, etc?

Shhh they snuck out a few days ago to watch avengers and haven't been back since. I think Loki is to blame.

I think they usually do a weekly report on Thursdays.

I think they are up to their necks in Diablo 3.

Oh yea, it's a Diablo day today.  Are there any other nerds out there that don't "get" all the Diablo love?  I feel like I'm alone in this.

Me too, I'm waiting mine to arrive from Amazon... :P

I enjoyed Diablo I&II in their day, but I was in the beta, and it left me cold.  Same with Starcraft and Warcraft.  I used to be a big fan, did well in tournaments, but nowadays, I prefer Total War and Dawn of War for strategy.

I guess I'm getting old.

I thought I'd be more excited about it too, but I haven't even bothered to pick it up yet... maybe it's that old thing.

Diablo III always online. It really is the devils work. Wish we all boycotted and got a changelog for FE to read instead.

The more I read about it the less interested I became. I was all about D2 and its multiplayer but this version stinks of exploitation and a lot of design choices that denigrate the gameplay I enjoyed.

This. I was pretty excited for Diablo III but after slogging through all the nerdrage over not having enough servers and the fanboys declaring it the best game ever "because it's awesome", and getting to the actual details about gameplay, I feel like I wouldn't replay it too much. The customization of characters is what made D2 fun to play over and over again. I'm thinking if I get D3 I'll play it through maybe once with each character and then never touch it again. If that's the case, there's way better things to spend $60 on (like getting Torchlight II for $20 and having $40 left over to spend on Grim Dawn and Xenonauts).

Blizzard has done jsut about everything bad to a gameyou can

1) Nerfed WoW into the ground for the masses

2) Constant online DRM starting with sc2

3) Real money gaming in d3

Yes a lot of gamers wear black but that doesnt mean we dont have values..I wont put my resources toward a company bent on ruining gaming so some shareholders can feed their trophy women. I'm uncomfortable as it is with Jon "civkiller" Shafer lurking about.

I dont think diablo 3 will do as well as they want, i got to tinker with Path of Exile. It's waaay darker and more enthralling. To bad its a F2P model, or i'd actually play it. lol

One thing I've learned is that anti-consumer practices don't seriously impact sales, unless you put in a bad game on top of it, or a series of bad games.

The only game that has really suffered sales-wise from bad business practices this gen is SFxTK.

Thats not entirely true. Games can have a  long lifespan, look at gog.com.

Many ubisoft games have online only drm and they get taken offline after a few years. This means that the long tail of sales is cut off, and it also reduces their audience. As more people get wary of the practice, more sales will be lost.

Diablo 3 or no Diablo 3, I think the team has abandoned the project (EFE) and moved on the 'Elemental the son of Elemental' mainly due to the excessive amount of moaning that we do on these forums. ;)

I knew it. They started developping a nintendo game (8 bit) game: Mortal Kombat 3 - Carebears Kick back

Hey Jon don't listen to enoeraew3 CIV V has the funnest combat systems of all the CIV games and played and enjoyed them all.  But I have had more fun with CIV V than the others.  It is just really buggy at least it was the last time I played it several months ago. But my friends and I are going to start playing it again this summer (hopefully some bugs have been fixed)

I wonder what Stardock would do with the Mortal Kombat franchise, other then Lord Kona exclusive guest character.

Agree, definitely not civkiller.  Loved Civ 5.  Enoeraew3 is probably quite scared of change.  Perhaps we just slap the same game into a new box with a new, serialized number each rendition!  Then nothing would ever change and we can all be comfortable!
