This suggestion is mainly for Umber in mind, but can be used for other factions. I'm suggesting a trait that gives factions acces to javelins. Javilins have been used in warfare by quite a lot of forces, the Romans for example. The way I see it would be this: Javelins are ranged weapons like the throwing knives, buth with a range of 3 or 4. The upside for this weapon is that units can carry ranged weapons into battle and use these when there out of range for a melee attack, giving extra option for your soldiers. The downside of these weapons would be that they have weight fixed to them, they got a penalty towards acuracy and get an temporary reduction of initiative (for getting to there next turn). These javelins would be a great addition for Umber, seeing that the base abillity of Umber is that they get a bonus for getting in large groups. Maybe another downside for picking this trait is the loss of the abillity to use bows. I propose that these spears would be added in the same place as the normal spears are and that there are multiple types of javalins, just like bows.
