[0.91] Various minor bugs and suggestions

Have been having a go at beta 3.  The game is definitely improving with every iteration.  A few bugs and suggestions I've found or come up with:

 

  • Performance seems to have dipped a bit since the last beta.  This might be my crappy laptop, not sure.
  • Various quest graphics are not appearing on the map.  This has increased a lot since the last beta, not sure how that happened
  • The animation for the flame staff (can't remember the name) is broken - the attack comes in at a weird angle
  • In the tactical battles, damage now seems to show on the health bars before the attack animation happens.  This clearly shouldn't be the case.
  • Does the 'equip' screen really have much of a purpose any more?  The 'trade' screen seems to do all that
  • In my first game, a top level hero was blocking a narrow route out of my starting location.  Because he was a recruitable, I could not kill him, and this had the effect of making my position impossible.  The other way out was wildlands, meaning that I was trapped in a tiny area with no hope of progression.  This needs looking at as it is a total gamekiller if it happens
  • Please get rid of the roundabouts (when two roads meet).  They look really awful.  Just have the two roads meeting.  Also smoothing them out (no sharp corners) would make it more immersive.
  • Would it be possible to code the fence or wall around a city to put a gate or something where a road comes out?  Zooming into a city gives lovely detail but it is ruined somewhat by a road coming out of a wall or going straight through a fence

Yes, all flame attacks fire from the left of the Screen towards the right - regardless of the location of the caster and the target
